Moon Milk has its origins in Ayurveda for centuries. Using a milk alternative, moon milk paired with or without Ashwaganda is a natural sleep aid to help calm and ground your body into a restful sleep.
I first went down the rabbit hole of moon milk on Pinterest last year and was mesmerized by the colors and flavor combinations. What I love about Moon milk is that it uses natural colors and flavors to create a truly dreamy drink.
We use dehydrated plants and food to naturally color our drinks such as Blue Butterfly Pea flower, purple Sweet Potatoes, or even Pandeen green leaves.
Our flavors range from Blueberry Lavender Moon milk to simple Vanilla w a dash of cinnamon to a more come Golden Milk.
Our moon milk is cooked on a bigger sand machine just like our Turkish coffee in Turkish milk pots. I was so delighted to find copper milk heating pots from our Turkish vender to balance out our Turkish coffee pots. It just pulled this whole idea together.
We only use a milk alternative like Oat Milk or Almond Milk. Moon milk can have Ashwaganda added to it by request. As we were creating our flavors, we discovered that it has a distinctive taste when added to the milk.
There are so many benefits to Ashwaganda and it’s medicinal use in India goes back over 3000 years. It is an adaptogen which means it adapts to what your body needs. For example, if you need to lower you stress and cortisol levels, it will adapt and lower them. If your levels are too low, it will raise them up. Not only does it help alleviate stress, but it also lowers blood sugar levels, inflammation, increases memory and brain function.
Moon milk is made to order and served in latte bowls. Cupping the latte bowls with bowl hands forces you to put down your phone and be present with yourself and this calming drink. Allow it to create a sense of peace and calm as it grounds you.
It truly is a very magical drink and I can’t wait to share it with you!
