Kahve Cafe is a wholly immersive experience of feeling like you have stepped into a Mediterranean cafe for an exceptional cup of coffee or tea.
We want you to feel like you are coming home after a long time away to visit family. You see, there is a Turkish Proverb that says: One cup of coffee creates a 40-year friendship. When you walk in, you are not just a customer to us because we will be welcoming you into our family.
Over the millennia, the Turkic culture has been nomads, creating home where they ended after a day’s journey. Many of the food and beverages still reflect elements of that today.
In Turkey, for centuries, coffee and tea were cooked over the campfire ash; Thin layers of dough were filled with nuts and dried fruits, sometimes cheese and dried meats. Our Cafe brings the essence of having a freshly brewed cup of Turkish coffee and tea into Salt Lake City.
Turkish tea will be on all day and served traditionally from a Samovar, double teapot. Each cup of Turkish coffee will be brewed to order in hot sand. This is not a quick grab-and-go cup of coffee. It is about gathering and savoring the moment, either alone or with friends.
One can’t have coffee without treats. We have that covered: baklava, borek, light Mediterranean salads, and small plates will fill your bellies as our coffee will feed your spirit. The food that we have is easily displayed between our two cases!
Due to our small Victorian Kitchen, we are not able to do made-to-order meals and we are not able to do a full Turkish Breakfast.
